FAQ

What is Web-Sites.cn?

Web-Sites.cn is a free bilingual directory of Chinese-community businesses in cities around the world, in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Is it free?

Yes. Searching is free and adding a business listing is free. There are no paid plans at the moment.

Which cities are covered?

All covered cities are listed on the home page. We add a city with a large Chinese community once there are at least 150 useful listings (with an address, phone or website) for it.

How do I switch between English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese?

Tap EN, 简体 or 繁體 at the top of any page. The same page opens in the language you choose.

How do I add my business?

Use the Add your business form. Write in English or Chinese; it is translated automatically into the other languages and checked by a person before it is published.

How long does approval take?

Usually a few days. Listings that break the family-safe rules or look like spam are not published.

Where does the business information come from?

Most listings come from OpenStreetMap, a free map anyone can edit, under the Open Database License. Others are added by businesses and reviewed by us.

Are Chinese business names translated?

No. We only show a Chinese name when the business or OpenStreetMap provides one. We never make up translations of business names.

How do I fix wrong details?

Correct the place on OpenStreetMap, or send us the change with the Feedback button.

What is the newcomer guide?

Each city has a short guide for people who just moved there, covering phones, banking, doctors, transport and schools, with links to official sources.

Can I ask questions about moving to a city?

Yes. Each city has a Newcomer Q&A. Questions and answers are reviewed before they appear, and answers are not professional advice.
